Is it right that the man do not like to deal with the smart and straightforward ladies?

I got confused with my life. All time I tried to be helpfull and straightforward. But seems I was born in wrong place, people here said that I am too straight to the point to deal with, or having too much western personalities. In many cases I tried my best to compromise if posibble, but then the costs are or the failers of the whole projects or a lot of wasted efforts and time for many people. Now - 50, single and sucessful - I still question myself - what I am wrong here? Do I have to advice my daughter not to copy my personalities?
