16dkh is not high first of all reef crystals stock water is at 16. also dont use strips ull be more accurate by looking at the water and guessing for all the money u spend on saltwater buy a good test kit. dont worry about the high alk, using well water wont work for saltwater buy a RO unit or water from someone else. if you dont want to buy RO sell the tank.
