Is it ethical to tke bribes?

Bribes isn't the only topic in ethics but it's interesting. Should a college admission officer take bribes to let illiterate people into college or a work supervisor take a bribe because of a story that the employee "shoplifted the clothes they had on" or "took drugs on the way to work"? Shouldn't the employee have the right to know what was said about them and refute the charges?
