Is there anything I can use to season steaks besides "steak seasoning"?

That's funny, we've never used those seasoning mixes before! I'm perfectly happy with sticking to plain old salt and pepper and just enjoying the flavor of the meat. My husband likes to marinate them with teriyaki sauce, crushed garlic, a dash of cayenne, and crushed red pepper flakes. We use that marinade for chicken too. I see a few other people mentioned italian dressing as a marinade - that's always another good option.
