My plant died sitting in my car. Will it live once again?

I left a plant in my car for about two hours in 90 degree heat. When I came back it was wilted and the leaves now have black sections. I watered it, but it doesn't look any better after three hours. Do I give up or should I just chuck it back at mother nature?
